KeepCalling teams up with Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity 2011
At the end of May 2011 KeepCalling teamed up with Habitat for Humanity in building a house for a family in need from Beius, Romania.
During May 30th – May 31st 10 members of the KeepCalling team from Sibiu, Romania joined Habitat for Humanity Beius in their efforts to built a home for a family in need.
KeepCalling proudly supported this project financially and also with the devotion and hard work of a young and energetic team willing to help the community. KeepCalling volunteers developed the magic formula that lets everyday people use their compassion, together with others, in a deeply satisfying and enriching way.
Peace Corps Romania and Habitat for Humanity initiated the project in honor of 20 years of Peace Corps Romania and 50 years of Peace Corps worldwide. KeepCalling takes satisfaction in joining the growing ranks of Habitat volunteers all around the world and supporting a wonderful family with 2 children and a father with disabilities in building a home and starting a new life.
Habitat for Humanity 2013
In 2013, KeepCalling renewed its support for Habitat for Humanity by making a $2000 donation and sending 12 of its employees to work on one of the organization’s construction sites. Between July 25-26, the employees helped build four houses for families in need in Chinteni, a village in the county of Cluj, Romania. The money donation was used to buy materials and tools.
Wearing the full equipment destined for this job, the 12 employees used their building skills and team spirit to work for a good cause: building a home for four of the families chosen to be part of the Habitat social program. Beside the great team experience and charitable work, this event was also an opportunity for KeepCalling employees to work in a different context from the daily one.
The advantages of participating in a Habitat for Humanity project are countless and long lasting both for the house owners and for the construction team. KeepCalling’s employees worked closely with the beneficiaries of the cause and learned their stories. They also understood the stages and the techniques of construction labor.
The satisfaction of working for a good cause, the willingness to invest time and energy, and the possibility of testing their limits were the reasons KeepCalling’s employees were eager to get involved in this challenge. Since this was not KeepCalling’s first partnership with Habitat for Humanity, it will probably not be the last either.
