KeepCalling donates to SOS Children’s Villages
Spring brings fresh donations from KeepCalling as the company decided to enlist the cause of the international foundation SOS Children’s Villages. KeepCalling donated food, school supplies, and cleaning products worth $1000 to one of the branches of this NGO, which hosts 70 children in 12 houses. The children are aged between 2 and 15. 55 of them are students and need school supplies. That’s why KeepCalling bought them notebooks, watercolors, brushes, and plasticine. With the rest of the money, KeepCalling’s Charity Committee purchased soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, flour, rice, pasta, sugar, oil, waffles, bananas, oranges and other tinned products.
SOS Children’s Villages intends to offer a loving family to any child in difficulty. That’s why one of the main goals of the organization is to help children by integrating them in families. An SOS family is made up of an SOS mother who takes care of up to 10 children and forty such family houses are grouped together as a “Village” with shared facilities. Children living in an SOS home are either orphans or belong to families that can’t take proper care of them.
SOS Children’s Villages has been functioning since 1949 and was founded by Hermann Gmeiner in Imst, Austria. SOS currently provides about 50,000 children and 15,000 young adults worldwide with a permanent new family. SOS Children’s Villages has become famous all over the world and is now supported by celebrities such as Cher, Nelson Mandela, FIFA, the Dalai Lama, and Johnny Cash whose memorial fund is directed towards the work of SOS Children’s Villages worldwide.
