Can you imagine life without mobile phones?
Over the past 20 years or so, the popularity of mobile phones has grown to such an extent that we now rely on them for very many of our daily needs. Mobiles nowadays benefit from such advanced technology that they can replace many objects we use on a daily basis: watches, alarm clocks, computers, books, TV sets… Can you even imagine your life without mobiles?!
Today we tried to do that and came up with 5 major things that would change in our lives if we had to live without mobile phones. Of course, this list can be much longer, so you can think of more items to add to it. Without a mobile…
1. You’d be lost… literally
How did people use to live without Google maps?! It’s intriguing to think that only a few years ago there were no GPS systems and people had to rely on directions and on their own memory. Without a mobile phone, you’d probably get lost more often and spend more time trying to find your way to unknown places. But hey, people lived this way for thousands of years!
2. You’d need a watch, alarm clock, camera, landline, flashlight…
Since the mobile phone successfully replaces so many individual objects, you’d have to own (and carry around) more stuff. You’d definitely need a watch to keep time and an alarm clock to make sure you get up in time to get to work. You’ll also need a landline. Remember how you can always take photos of everything nice you see every day? Well, you won’t be able to do that anymore, unless you carry a camera with you at all times. You’ll even miss the flashlight function of the mobile when you need it.
3. You’d read less
Let’s face it, most of our reading time is spent during our commute or while we’re kept waiting. If you don’t have a book on you, that time will be lost and you’ll get to read much less without a mobile. You’d also fall behind on the news, not to mention social media updates, that you also check on the go.
4. You’d have to use your little grey cells
Don’t you just love the Reminder or Notes apps? Well, don’t get too hung up on them! Without a mobile, you’d have to keep a physical agenda and remember to check it regularly or just train those little grey cells to do your smartphone’s job.
5. You’d talk less with your loved ones
Just like the time we spend reading, we also call our loved ones when we’re on the move. When we’re stuck in traffic or when we have to walk for a long time we like calling our friends and family and catching up with everything that’s new. Without a mobile, we’d definitely learn less news from home.
But we thankfully do have mobiles! And we also have a great mobile app for high quality calls with our loved ones: KeepCalling app. Take advantage of the joys of technology and the low rates offered by KeepCalling and make calls whenever and wherever you want to!
To conclude…
